Kelly Ogiesoba

West Palm Beach, Florida

Kelly Ogiesoba is working as a Venture Capitalist in South Florida. He is a Senior Associate Investor for the NextEra Energy Ventures & Investments team.

He is responsible for researching, screening, and evaluating potential venture capital investments in the energy, infrastructure, decarbonization, or cyber security sectors. He sources opportunities and leads teams for the execution of due diligence investment activities and deal transactions.

Prior to his most recent role at NextEra, he took on several work opportunities spanning startups, venture capital, growth capital, and non-profit policy-related work activities. He also worked as a project manager at NextEra Energy where he built out the business strategy and structure of Florida Power & Light’s (FPLs) distributed generation space mostly focusing on residential storage and electric vehicle (EV) solutions, but also engaged in the land screening of new utility-scale solar sites. 

Prior to NextEra, he worked in Management Consulting at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an Associate. Here he primarily worked on pricing and growth strategy for large, multinational, billion-dollar businesses within the industrial goods sector, but also worked on mergers and acquisitions within consumer goods. Earlier in his career, he interned at several large corporations such as Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Cisco Systems, and Eaton Corporation.

In addition to his work in the private sector and his MAVPAC involvement, Kelly enjoys training in martial arts, predominately Krav Maga, an Israeli Military Defense Force curriculum.

Kelly holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering (with University Honors) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he studied Electrical Engineering with a minor in International Studies. He studied abroad in the United Kingdom at the University of Manchester, holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Industrial and Operations Engineering, and is a Tauber Global Operations Fellow.
