Rina Shah - Class of 2023

About Rina

Rina Shah is a voice for a new generation of political leaders. As a center-right woman of color & daughter of African & Indian immigrants, she's earned high acclaim for her sharp analysis & ability to carve a refreshing path between partisan extremes. A principled defender of America's founding values & a fierce advocate for better government, Rina is a frequent guest on the world’s top media networks for her commentary on a wide range of issues, her editorials have been published in outlets coast-to-coast, & she's been profiled globally. Rina has been a chief spokesperson & top advisor for 2 U.S. presidential campaigns, senior aide to 2 Republican members of Congress, sought-after political strategist, tireless innovator, accomplished businesswoman, & most importantly, a mother. She is known in Washington, DC as a coalition-builder who elevates the role of women in government/politics & advances pragmatic policy solutions -- all while ruffling more than a few old feathers along the way. Rina believes preserving the values that made America the most prosperous & powerful democracy in history doesn't mean running away from progress; she embraces a better future for all. Her favorite way to unwind is jogging around the Lincoln Memorial at sunset.

Future Plans

The year ahead will be a rollercoaster for those of us involved in politics, media, & business. I plan to ride it out by expanding my geopolitical risk advisory practice, curating conversations w/non-political & political folks, as well as continuing my advocacy for school choice, ranked choice voting, as well as for safe, accessible, & fair elections.

What makes Maverick PAC special?

Through my Future40 cohort, I've had unparalleled interactions that keep me coming back. I've found Mavericks have: mutual respect, genuine desire to better our world, and an appetite for innovative ideas that result in good public policy & better leadership. In a world where deeper connections are hard to form, I feel fortunate to have gained community & the opportunity to have deeper relationships with action-oriented folks creating positive change across America.

Fun Fact

On the night of Pres. Obama's 1st inauguration, I unexpectedly bumped into & had a dance-off w/the legendary MC Hammer...which ended with him giving me kudos on winning!
