Christian Hoehner

Washington, D.C.

Christian A. Hoehner is an experienced government reform professional with a focus on federal financial management, spending transparency, information technology, and public sector data policy. He currently serves as the Deputy Policy Director for the Republican staff of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Previously, as the Senior Director of Policy for the Data Coalition, Christian led the trade-association’s policy agenda and advocacy efforts to transform government financial, regulatory, and legal information from disconnected documents into standardized, machine-readable open data. As the primary lobbyist for the coalition he successfully advocated the Open, Public, Electronic, and Necessary (OPEN) Government Data Act and the Grant Reporting Efficiency and Agreements Transparency (GREAT) Act through Congress into law.

Throughout his career Christian has remained an active volunteer with the Republican party as well as supporting professional development programs in the D.C. region’s federal technology community.

Christian is a two-time graduate of the University of Virginia where he double-majored with a B.A. in U.S. Government and Sociology and recently earned an M.S. in the Management of Information Technology (MS-MIT) from the McIntire School of Commerce. However, in the winter months his real passion comes alive while working part-time as a U.S. Ski and Snowboard downhill racing coach where he trains younger athletes in advanced carving development and race technique for the Giant Slalom and Slalom alpine events.
