Abbas Haider, named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2018, has been an entrepreneur throughout his life. From starting an import & export company in his senior year of high school to establishing a multi-million-dollar international brand in his freshman year of college, Abbas has mastered all phases of the business life cycle. While serving on the Executive Advisory Board at the University of Mary Washington, Abbas also mentors many other developing entrepreneurs through various speaking events such as TEDx, Forbes Summit, and OPEN DC. He was awarded the 2018 Young Business Alumni Award at the University of Mary Washington along with being the Commencement Speaker for the Class of 2018. Abbas’s work is featured in Forbes, Newsweek, The Washington Post, CNBC, The Independent Daily and many other media platforms for creating America’s first bullet-resistant clothing line.
Born in Pakistan, Abbas moved to the United States at a young age. He is passionate about bringing manufacturing jobs back to America. His company, Aspetto, is focused on “made in America” defense products and is proud to serve various federal agencies such as the Department of State, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. He believes that through hard work, passion, and perseverance, anyone can achieve the American dream.
